Not Bad Works is a small studio in Beijing, run by a climber who makes things by hand.

It started with a simple question: why can't climbing gear be both functional and beautiful? The first wooden holds were carved on a CNC machine in a tiny workshop. Then came silver rings, copper bracelets, and wooden objects that have nothing to do with climbing — but everything to do with making.

The name comes from the Chinese 手艺还行 (shǒuyì hái xíng) — a humble brag that translates roughly to "not bad, actually." It's what we say when someone compliments the work. Not false modesty, just the quiet confidence of someone who knows they put real hours into the thing.

Two lines, one maker

SENDMADE — climbing-specific products. Wooden holds, brush handles, training tools. Designed for sending, made for keeping.

Studio Works — silver, copper, and wood objects. Jewelry, small sculptures, everyday carry items. No theme required, just good material and honest craft.

Materials & Process

We work with walnut, cherry, maple, sterling silver, and copper. CNC for rough shaping, hand tools for the rest. Every piece is sanded through multiple grits, finished with natural oils, and inspected before it ships.
